Whelk is a common name for are large sea snails (gastropods) with spiral shells.

Fun Fact – Conch live in tropical (warm) waters and eat vegetation. Whelk are carnivores/scavengers living in temperate (cooler) waters, feeding on bivalves and on dead animals and detritus.
